The workshop programme is structured to guide participants through key areas of human resource management, from strategic HR practices to institutional action planning.

Dawn Layne is a Human Resources and Learning & Development Executive with over 25 years of experience shaping and driving human capital strategies across diverse organisational environments. Her areas of expertise include labour and employee relations, learning and development, recruitment and selection, performance management, productivity, policy development, and organisational performance.
She has designed and delivered comprehensive training programmes, developed and implemented HR policies and procedures, and led high-impact learning and development initiatives aligned with strategic business objectives. She is also a trained Professor for the Listen Like A Leader Program, certified by Barry-Wehmiller University in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dawn has served on the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Council in Barbados in both Customer Service and Management Lead Bodies. She is a member of the Human Resource Management Association of Barbados, the Society for Human Resource Management, and the American Society for Training and Development.
She holds a Master of Science in Labour and Employment Relations from The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill; an Executive Diploma in Management from the Cave Hill School of Business; an Associate Degree in Hospitality Management from the Barbados Community College; and a Master Trainer Certificate from the Cave Hill School of Business.
Dawn has also served as a Director on the Boards of the Massy Foundation (Barbados), the Barbados Employers’ Confederation, and the Barbados Accreditation Council, where she chaired the Human Resources Committee.

This in-person workshop will include Q&A, practical discussion, and guided learning focused on strengthening human resource management practices within educational institutions.
